Impact of Ghost Schools on Education in Pakistan

Pakistan is the Muslim country including diverse culture in it. If we think about that we should perform our duties with full responsibilities and with respect then here comes first the duty to give right education in our country. One of the study has exposed that there are ghost schools in Pakistan where teachers are getting salaries for just promoting literacy but no educational activity is taking place at all. 

The word ghost shows that there is just a name of education in schools and there are no students in schools while teachers are just taking salaries. It means that they are not filling their duties and these ghost schools are mainly the government schools where there are just empty buildings having names and have no students. This issue is creating a bad impact on our society as everyone is thinking about him or herself and destroying the future of whole nation. In every province there is a same issue as Pakistan Education Statistics Report 2013-2014 shows that total number of children at primary level in the country has dropped so of out-of-school children is 2.9 million in Punjab, 0.4 million in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 1.8 million in Sindh and 0.54 million in Baluchistan, so ministry of education should focus on that and should take strict action against the management of government schools. There must be strong audit done on each and every school in all provinces.

Government should start awareness of education in every area so that people should mostly focus mostly on government schools. Pakistan is underdeveloped country and its literacy rate is low so to improve literacy rate there must be proper measures in improving literacy rate and decreasing poverty. Mostly people cannot afford private schools as because of higher expenditures and fees so they need some alternate and that alternate is government schools. Proper education must be started in schools having one of the best teaching staff and best overall management with government specified rules so that there will be best education given to whole generation.
