There
are many reasons for the illiteracy in Pakistan Wedara system, Population
expansion, Feudal Lords, Low allocation of budget, Male dominant society, Lack
of school in rural areas and poverty.
We
talked about the poverty which is the biggest issue in most of the developing
countries and Pakistan also in that list. In Pakistan 40 % people are living
below poverty line it is a very shameful fact for those who defend that poverty
is decreasing now and we are now shaping the society in now era. In that type
of situation how is it possible for those parents who want to send their
children towards school, colleges and universities. According to UNICEF, 17.6 %
children work for the families and handle the entire burden itself.
Now
in these conditions the role of government and policies which should have help
to those children who are suffering now it’s unavoidable although government
did many things but it is not enough for them to resolve that issues.
In
the presence scenario Pakistan fall in those countries that spend just only 2 %
of G.D.P on education, On the other hand China is spending 2.82, India 3.5 %.
US, Japan, Uk and Italy are spending more than 5 % of G.D.P on education
system.
The major cause of Pakistan’s poor education sector is the extreme low level of public investment. Free education is right of every person who lives in this country but unfortunately this is not happening in Pakistan. Although government of Punjab took an initiative to give free education to the children but it’s just a formality and papers work nothing else or did beyond that. Media take a part many agencies take a part to develop campaigns about realizing that budget allocation for education set by the government is not enough it must be increase at least up to 3% but still the question have arrived is it become true which they all stake holders giants talking about or just to pass the time and wait for some wave which role them out from the battle
